Man sentenced to 340 years to life imprisonment for sexually abusing family members

A former inmate found guilty of sexual offenses against four family members was sentenced Friday to 340 years to life in state prison.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Eleanor J. Hunter called Eduardo Perezhernandez a “habitual sex offender” and said he deserves “every single day” of his prison sentence.

“You regularly abused the weakest people at your disposal,” the judge told the 47-year-old defendant.

The man from Los Angeles had already been convicted of attempted robbery in 2001, after which his prison sentence was reduced from 170 years to life imprisonment.

According to Assistant District Attorney Ariel Anson, a jury last month found him guilty of one count of rape, two counts of sexual intercourse with a minor 10 years of age or younger, three counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, seven counts of indecent act with a child under 14 years of age and one count of indecent act with a child 14 or 15 years of age.

One of the girls stated that she had been raped at a doctor’s appointment in 2015. However, no charges were brought against the defendant at that time, the prosecutor explained.
