Buffalo man arrested in weekend stabbing

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man has been arrested in connection with a weekend stabbing, police said Tuesday.

Isidoro Ortiz, 61, is accused of stabbing another man in the wrist with a large knife during an argument Saturday night on Humboldt Parkway. When police arrived, the victim, a 48-year-old Buffalo man, rushed to Sisters of Charity Hospital. He was later transferred to ECMC for treatment.


Police say a search warrant at Ortiz’s apartment turned up the gun, along with crack cocaine and other drug paraphernalia.

Ortiz is charged with the following:

  • one count, second degree assault
  • one count, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • one count, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • one count, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia
