Troy Police awarded 2,000 from NYS

TROY, NY (NEWS10) – New York State has awarded the Troy Police Department $362,000. This funding is part of a $127 million allocation from the state budget.

The funding gives the department the opportunity to improve and expand its technological systems. The Troy Police Department plans to upgrade and expand city camera systems, upgrade license plate readers and purchase a new drone.

“21st century policing is becoming increasingly technological and police departments are struggling to keep up with new products and tools. This funding will enhance our existing capabilities and improve our ability to investigate and deter criminal activity in the city. “The Troy Police Department is grateful for this necessary financial award,” said Police Chief Dan DeWolf.
