WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – The first half of the weekend was fairly sunny on Saturday, but a weak cold front moves south Saturday night, bringing more clouds and the chance of isolated showers or storms. Sunday will be sunny and cloudy, with a slight chance of showers. An initial warning for showers and storms will be issued Monday night, which could bring locally heavy rain to parts of the region. The coming days in the new week will not be as warm, with more sun than clouds. The next chance of showers or storms could be on Thursday.

Wausau and North Central Wisconsin have not been nearly as hot this summer as they will be in 2023. Last year, Wausau had 14 days where the high temperature reached 90 degrees. As of Saturday, the number for this year is still at zero. It has been 333 days since the last high of 90 degrees in Wausau, which dates back to early September of last year. The outlook for the coming week does not show hot weather.

Forecast models range from impacts to the Northwoods to southern Wisconsin. Be sure to have an umbrella handy on Monday as there will be plenty of clouds and showers or storms. Highs between 18 and 21 degrees. Intermittent rain is possible Monday night, tapering off to showers overnight.

On Tuesday the sun returns and it is pleasant with highs around 24 degrees. Wednesday is also a beautiful day with more sun than clouds and afternoon temperatures around 24 degrees. Thursday it will be mostly cloudy with the possibility of showers or thunderstorms. Highs around 21 degrees. Quite a lot of sun on Friday and next Saturday. Highs between 24 and 25 degrees.
