TSA is hiring agents at the Albany, Buffalo and Syracuse airports

ALBANY, NY – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is looking to hire TSA agents at Syracuse Hancock International, Albany International and Buffalo-Niagara airports in the coming months.

TSA agents screen thousands of air travelers daily, ensuring they arrive at their destinations safely. The TSA plans to regularly screen more travelers by summer and needs additional officers to support its security mission.

Based on anticipated seasonal travel trends in the coming months, TSA has launched efforts to recruit new employees to support screening operations at airports in upstate New York, in addition to many other agency airports nationwide.

The benefits of working at TSA for part-time and full-time employees include paid training, annual and sick leave, and robust health care plans. TSA is committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment and encourages people from all backgrounds to apply, including veterans and individuals with disabilities. Starting salary differs slightly in each region due to the cost of living in different locations. The starting hourly wage for Albany is $21.24 per hour; $20.63 per hour in Syracuse; and $19.80 per hour in Buffalo.

TSA provides employees with opportunities for significant salary increases during their first five years on the job, equating to a 62% increase from the first year. In addition to promotions and increments, TSA agents are eligible for up to an additional 25 percent bonus for working Sundays and nights. Executives are also eligible for various performance-based cash awards.

“Applicants do not need prior security or law enforcement experience. Our officers will receive extensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and will be paid while they are trained,” said Bart R. Johnson, TSA Federal Security Director for Upstate Airports. New York.

“TSA was created after the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001, and by joining TSA, you will be on the front lines of protecting the traveling public and will also be part of our national security enterprise,” Johnson added.
