• 20th Annual Woodlands Wine and Food Week | From Wednesday June 5 to Saturday June 8 – Wine and Food Week celebrates its 20th anniversary with a week of individual gastronomic delights and culinary events. • Opening Night: The Big Show 2024 at Lawndale Art Center | Friday June 7 | FREE – Lawndale’s annual Giant Exhibition returns for its 40th year, showcasing new works from artists practicing within a 100-mile radius of the art space. The fun begins with the 2nd Annual Freedom Walk/Run from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the day’s festivities and concerts beginning at 4:00 p.m. (the crowds usually start gathering around 3:00 p.m.). • Os Mutantes in concert at the Continental Club | Saturday June 15 – Present since the 1960s, the very influential Brazilian rock group arrives for an intimate concert in the heart of Mid Main. $30 and up. 9 p.m.

• Dinger Derby for Father’s Day at Home Run Dugout | Sunday June 16 – Dads and their children are invited to participate in a Father’s Day edition of the Home Run Derby at the Katy Cages and Batting Bar, for the top prize for best father-child duo. • Juneteenth Cultural Festival on Avenida Houston | Sunday June 16 | FREE – Along Avenida and in Discovery Green, this Juneteenth celebration features a full evening of live music, BLCK Market vendors, food trucks and a final fireworks display to close out the night. 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• The Catastrophic Theater presents Tamarie’s Texan toast! at the MATCH | Thursday June 20 | In progress – It’s not summer without the annual chaos coming from the mind of Tamarie Cooper. This year’s show sees Cooper and his merry maniacs deliver a production as big as the Lone Star State. Expect references to high school football, gas station beavers, flag parades, giant cockroaches, tons of guns, Whataburger glory and much more. This production runs until Saturday August 3. Arrive early to celebrate the all-day festival, with live performances from K. Michelle, David Archuleta, Kayla G and Brooke Eden.
