J.D. Houston

JD was born August 7, 1932 in Charleston, to the late Leonard and Modena McAlister Houston.

He retired from Velsicol Chemical after 30 years of service. He also owned a local dairy farm. He enjoyed spending time working on his farm for most of his life.

JD was a devoted member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church for many years.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Laverne Houston; and sister, Virginia Ann Lunsford.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter, Rhonda Houston Hooker; and his God-given friend and caregiver, Wally Farris of Cleveland; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
