A Norfolk man was arrested after allegedly threatening lives with a knife, police said

NORFOLK, Neb. (KCAU) – A Norfolk man was arrested after allegedly threatening others with a knife, according to a news release.

On May 19 at 5:38 p.m., Norfolk Police responded to a physical disturbance at a residence in the 200 block of South 13th Street. Officials said they came into contact with several people when they arrived at the scene.

Witnesses reported that 27-year-old Delvys J. Bernal Rafuls and another man got into an argument, with another witness stepping in to break up the argument.

According to the report, Bernal Rafuls allegedly grabbed a large kitchen knife and swung it at the person he was arguing with. As the victim and witness fled out the back door, they were followed by Bernal Rafuls, who allegedly continued to brandish the knife and threaten to kill them.

Bernal Raful is said to have fled the area in a vehicle and went to a police station where he was questioned about the incident.

Authorities then arrested him on charges of attempted assault, using a weapon to commit a felony and making terroristic threats.

Bernal Rafuls was booked into the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
