Despite weather concerns, the opening round of the 2024 PGA Championship went smoothly on Thursday. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Friday’s second round.

Early Friday morning, PGA Championship officials announced in a press release that the start of the second round Friday morning would be delayed due to a “serious accident near the golf course.”

No further details were provided regarding the nature of the accident, but the statement said a further update would be provided at 7 a.m. ET. Additionally, the start of the round would be delayed by at least an hour from the time of this update.

Since the first groups were originally scheduled to tee off at 7:15 a.m. ET, this means tee times will likely be delayed by at least an hour. This post will be updated as more information becomes available.
