Police investigate ‘suspicious call’ from man threatening to shoot at Cumberland Mall – WSB-TV Channel 2

CUMBERLAND, Ga. — Cobb County Police responded to a suspicious call at Cumberland Mall Thursday afternoon.

The police said Channel 2 Action News that officers responded with weapons drawn after receiving the call.

Officers say a man called and said he was inside the mall and was going to start shooting. They searched the mall and found nothing suspicious.

Cumberland Mall said the mall was not evacuated.

A spokesperson for the shopping center said Channel 2 Action News that an incident occurred at Macy’s, which operates independently of the mall.
