TEENAGER DIES IN ACCIDENT BETWEEN SUV AND MOTORCYCLE – KQEN News Radio

An Umpqua teenager died in a crash between an SUV and a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office states that the SUV driver was traveling west on Garden Valley Road at 2:15 p.m. when she turned left onto River Forks Market near the intersection with Curry Road. The vehicle turned in front of the motorcyclist, who was traveling east on a street motorcycle at a high rate of speed.

The motorcyclist, 18-year-old Brody Turner of Umpqua, was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorist, 71-year-old Jo Carol Driver of Roseburg, cooperated with the investigation. River Forks Market provided DCSO with video of the accident.
