Typical heat and humidity pattern resumes | Tropical update

HOUSTON (CW39) – Today marks one week since Hurricane Beryl made landfall. Many people are still without power, enduring the afternoon heat with little relief at night. Unfortunately, another hot week is ahead… it is summer in Texas after all.

Today, highs will reach 32°C, but humidity will be very high. Winds will be light, making the warm, humid air feel stagnant at times. The heat index will reach near 41°C this afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms will develop later in the afternoon. The cooled air from the thunderstorms could help those looking for a brief drop in temperatures in the late afternoon or evening. Partly cloudy with a low of 24°C this evening.
The forecast for tomorrow will be much the same: hot, humid and with a risk of summer thunderstorms.

NEWS FROM THE TROPICS… None. Hopefully it stays that way for a while.
