HOUSTON – A man died and a woman was seriously injured Sunday evening after a high-speed crash in northwest Houston.

It happened on Gessner & Tanner near the Sam Houston Turnpike near Highway 290 around 10 p.m. That’s when authorities said the driver, an unidentified man, was speeding when he lost control and crossed the center reservation, causing the vehicle to overturn. several times.

Houston police said the driver was ejected from his vehicle during the crash and died at the scene. Meanwhile, firefighters had to extricate a woman sitting in the passenger seat and took her to a local trauma center in serious condition.
