Summary of Saturday’s Houston HS Regional Softball Semifinals

Houston High School Regional Semifinal softball playoff recaps and scores from Saturday’s games.

Region II
Waco Midway 10, Bridgeland 0 (5 hostel)
Waco Midway wins series 2-0 and advances to regional final
Bridgeland saw another strong playoff run end with its second straight loss to Midway.

The Bears (33-6) struggled to get much offense against a Midway team that has won 21 straight games.

Midway (31-4) will face Rockwall, which swept Oak Ridge, in the regional final next week.

Region III
Katy 2, Brazoswood 1
Katy wins the series 2-0 and advances to the regional final
Katy heads to the Region III-6A championship after knocking off Brazoswood with a competitive win in game two.

The nationally ranked No. 1 Tigers (39-1-1) scored a run in each of the first two innings, and that was enough to hold off the Buccaneers (31-9).

EK Smith allowed three hits and one earned run in 5⅓ innings. She finished with seven strikeouts. Cameryn Harrison recorded the final four outs.

Montgomery Henderson and Lexie Waugh each recorded an RBI for the Tigers.

Peyton Tanner allowed three hits and two earned runs in seven innings for Brazoswood. She finished with nine strikeouts.

Katy advances to face the winner between Heights and Kingwood.

Region IV
Needville 5, Floresville 3
Needville wins the series 2-0 and advances to the regional final
Needville advanced to the regional final round with a competitive win in game two.

The Lady Jays (31-6-1) have won 19 straight games and will face Calallen next week.

Calallen swept Sealy in the regional semifinals to advance.

Floresville finishes its season with a record of 26-10-1.

Franklin 13, Bernard East 10
Franklin wins the series 2-0 and advances to the regional final
East Bernard saw another record-breaking season end with a second straight loss to Franklin.

Megan Gasch led the way for the Brahmanettes (29-10-2), recording two hits and four RBIs.

Franklin (39-2-1) advances to the regional final, facing either Kountze or Grandview.
