Sweet expectations for 2024 will benefit FeedMore WNY

The exclusive fundraiser includes tastings, live music, a chef demonstration and much more.

The time has come, once again, to indulge in a world of sweet delights, while supporting one of Buffalo’s most renowned non-profit organizations. We should all know by now the positive contributions FeedMore WNY has made to this city. The organization provides nutritious food and support to food insecure community members of all ages in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties. It’s worth noting that in 2023, FeedMore WNY provided enough food for approximately 16.9 million meals across its entire service area!

“Food insecurity exists in every community in our four-county service area. Unfortunately, the need for food assistance is only growing, especially among some of our most vulnerable neighbors. Last year, the number of children who rely on FeedMore WNY increased by nearly 20 percent, while the number of seniors who receive help from FeedMore increased by 35 percent,” said Tara A . Ellis, president and CEO of FeedMore WNY. “The Sweet Expectations fundraiser is so important because it allows us to continue our vital programs and services. We hope everyone can attend this event to enjoy an evening of food and festivities while supporting our community members in need.

Sweet Expectations – benefitting FeedMore WNY – will take place on Wednesday, May 8, from 5-8 p.m., at the Show at Shea’s Seneca, located at 2188 Seneca Street in Buffalo. The event, presented by Wegmans and James Desiderio Inc., includes tastings, live music, a chef demonstration and auction prizes.

Customers will appreciate:

• A variety of sweet and savory offerings from nearly 20 local vendors
• Chef Audrey Zybala of Sweet Pea Bakery will lead demonstrations of decorating micro cakes with meringue and fruit compote.
• Opportunity to enter raffles and bid on auction items including signed Josh Allen memorabilia, complete MLB Cleveland Guardians game package, wine and liquor packages, technology items, etc.

Tickets are $75 per person or $150 each for VIP. VIP entry includes early access to the event and auction as well as an exclusive free tasting. The open bar is included in general and VIP admission.
