25 NEWS AT SIX STARTS NOW. ONLY AT SIX. Malicious and unprovoked. That’s how Palm Beach County deputies described the fatal shooting of a Wellington couple outside their home. Authorities believe the couple’s neighbor, Norman Scott, killed them. HE’S IN PRISON NOW. GOOD EVENING. I AM TODD MCDERMOTT AND FELICIA RODRIGUEZ. Thank you for joining us. The fatal shooting occurred Saturday in the Black Diamond Community. THAT’S WHERE WE’LL FIND OUR JADE JARVIS LIVE FOR US TONIGHT. AND JADE, WHAT DEPUTIES REVEAL HAPPENED BEFORE SHOTS WERE FIRED. Well, Felicia and Todd, deputies say Norman Scott claimed his neighbors attacked him outside his home here in Wellington on Saturday evening. BUT AFTER YOU LOOK AT THE SURVEILLANCE IMAGES, YOU BELIEVE THAT THE TRUE STORY IS SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. That deputies responded to the 10000 block of Galleria Street in Black Diamond in Wellington Township Saturday evening and found two victims, Taylor. AND TARA JONES, WHO A POLICE REPORT INDICATED DIED OF MULTIPLE SHOT WOUNDS, SAY A NEIGHBOR TOLD THEM HE WAS SKIMMING TO FIND THE JONESES ON THE GROUND. WHILE TRYING TO HELP THEM, BLEEDING PROFULLY, HE TOLD DEPUTY NORMAN SCOTT WALKING OUT OF HIS HOME and when asked if he had heard anything, Scott said, “Don’t worry, I shot them both.” In those documents, deputies say Scott claimed he got into an argument with both victims over a basketball hoop and property lines when they attacked and he shot them. The report also states that Scott was the one who called 911, but deputies said when they looked at footage from Scott’s eight outdoor surveillance cameras, it told a different story. ACCORDING TO THE REPORT. The video shows Taylor Jones cleaning up his yard when Scott comes outside and waves for him to come over. Deputies say the video shows Jones did not behave in an aggressive, threatening or erratic manner. HOWEVER, THEY SAY IT MADE SCOTT VISIBLY ANGRY, SCREAMING AND POINTING AT JONES. They then say Scott pulled out a gun and Jones starts to back away with his hands up, but Scott starts shooting and Jones falls to the ground. According to the report, Scott then shot Tara Jones, who was standing 20 to 30 feet away from him on their property, and then shot her husband twice more after he was already on the ground. And deputies believe the shooting was completely malicious and unprovoked, especially after reviewing the surveillance video. NOW SCOTT IS IN PRISON WITHOUT BOND. He is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is due back in court in June. LIVE IN WE
