A series of break-ins into unlocked vehicles that occurred in Glen Rock last week are still under investigation, police said.

The reported robberies began at approximately 4:26 a.m. on June 25, according to Glen Rock police. A resident of Daryl Court was the first to call police for help after seeing someone in his vehicle outside his home.

The suspected perpetrator was wearing a black hoodie and black pants and ran toward Doremus Avenue after the resident yelled at them, police said. Authorities were unable to locate the suspect after searching the area.

Throughout the day, police received more calls from residents reporting break-ins into their vehicles. In total, eight unlocked vehicles were broken into overnight, officials said. The reports came from residents in the 300 and 400 blocks of Doremus Avenue, Leone Court and Glen Rock Square.

Items stolen from the vehicles include an iPad, a wallet, $100 in cash, credit cards and an identification card.

None of the victims were able to provide police with a description of the intruder after they checked their homes’ video surveillance systems.

An attempted break-in into a ninth vehicle on Doremus Avenue failed, the police report said.

Police did not say there were any arrests in connection with the car thefts.
