Wyden calls for investigation into ‘negligence’ of UnitedHealth hack

senator Ron Wyden called on regulators to investigate United Health Group Inc. because of what he considered a “negligent” security measure that led to one of the largest hacker attacks in the history of the US healthcare system.

Wyden, an Oregon Democrat, called on the Federal Trade Commission and Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate the company’s “numerous cybersecurity and technology failures” to determine whether any laws were broken, according to a letter to regulators seen by Bloomberg News.
