LAFC Reaches Historic 100th Win With Close Win Over Atlanta United

LAFC reached a milestone by securing the 100th victory in club history with a 1-0 win over Atlanta United on Saturday night.

The win ties the record in the post-shooting era (2000–present) for fewest games needed to reach 100 wins, a record set by the Seattle Sounders in 2015, with both teams reaching the mark in 206 games .

The triumph also marked LAFC’s first victory against Atlanta United at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and their second away win of the regular season, after a rough 0-4-1 start on the road.

Currently, LAFC has 7 wins, 4 losses and 3 draws (24 points) for the season, consolidating its position in the upper ranks of the Western Conference standings.

The match remained goalless in the first half but came to life in the 60th minute when Atlanta United goalkeeper Brad Guzan received a red card for a foul on Mateusz Bogusz on the edge of the penalty area.

Bogusz’s subsequent free kick deflected off the Atlanta wall, wrong-footing replacement goalkeeper Josh Cohen and giving LAFC a 1-0 lead.

The final minutes of regulation, as well as eight minutes of stoppage time, were tense for LAFC. Midfielder Eduard Atuesta was sent off in the 81st minute after receiving a second yellow card.

However, LAFC’s disciplined defense, led by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, secured a clean sheet and a crucial victory, earning the team all three points.
