FBI asks for help finding victims of California man accused of stalking women on Instagram

The FBI’s Buffalo field office is searching for victims of a recently indicted California man accused of harassing women on Instagram.

Max Yang Chen, 29, was charged with unauthorized device intrusion and cyberstalking. An FBI investigation found that Chen gained access to women’s social media accounts and obtained sexually explicit photos and videos from the victims.

He allegedly harassed some women and threatened to release the explicit images he obtained of them if they failed to produce more photos and videos of themselves.

According to the FBI office, Chen told some women he had the means to remove explicit images from porn leak websites and offered them his services in exchange for their nude photos and videos.

The FBI is seeking the public’s help in identifying women, minors and adults, who may have been victimized, threatened, harassed or extorted by Chen, who allegedly targeted women from 2017 until his March 7 arrest.
