When it comes to branding, the folks at Buffalo Grill don’t miss an opportunity to let you know where they’re from and what they’re doing at Times Square’s new Buffalo Wing and Sandwich restaurant.

The marketing starts with the fiberglass buffalo in front that features Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen’s jersey and logo on one side to the other that has the Buffalo Sabers logo along with their jersey number Hall of Fame legend Gilbert Perreault.

Under the buffalo are blocks with the words “Strong FMB” and the message “The Love of the Buffalo” with a heart where “o” go.

Further on the property is a cornhole game with the Bills and Sabers logos.

Near the food truck/trailer where the food is cooked, there is a large sign reminiscent of the large Fort Myers Beach selfie wall/welcome sign erected at the bottom of the Matanzas Not Bridge before Hurricane Ian. The Buffalo Grill sign has a big heart in front of big letters that say “BMF. » Behind are messages from “The Love of the Buffalo” And “FMB strong. »

Buffalo Grill owners Fred Mallone and Bill Wagner, Buffalo natives, believe their menu will entice Fort Myers Beach residents and island tourists to devour the wings, hot dogs, chili dog burgers, roast beef, grilled chicken, sausages and their signature. “Dart sandwich.” The Stinger Sandwich mixes chicken fillets and roast beef.

Malone says their wings will stand out from the competition. “They are crispy and tasty” he said.

For Malone and Wagner, this is their first entry into the food business. The food truck business is run by consultant Tom Galanes, whose family runs the Buffalo restaurant Zorba’s. The family has been in the restaurant business for 51 years in Buffalo, Galanes said. He expects to travel back and forth from Buffalo to Fort Myers Beach to keep an eye on the new restaurant.

Last Friday was the first official day Buffalo Grill opened its doors in Fort Myers Beach. The beach was relatively busy in mid-May.

“When word spreads, this will be the place to be.” » said Dave Buono. Buono, of Buffalo, was eating lunch with his family along the artificial turf while admiring views of the Gulf of Mexico.

“We think it will be a good attraction” Wagner said. “Take photos, play games.”
