Detectives investigate Edgemoor Lane robberies; Surveillance photos of the suspect released

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives with the Montgomery County Department of Police Major Crimes Unit are investigating two commercial armed robberies that occurred in the 4800 block of Edgemoor Lane in Bethesda. Investigators have released surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking the public for help in identifying him.

On Monday, May 13, 2024, at approximately 7:21 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at Geste Beer and Wine. The preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown male suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the register before leaving the scene.

On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at approximately 6:26 p.m., the same unknown suspect entered the Geste Beer and Wine store, displayed a handgun, and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the register before exiting the back of the store.

Investigators have released surveillance photos of the suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens. On Monday, May 13, 2024, he was wearing a black jacket with a floral pattern on the back, light jeans and black shoes. On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark distressed jeans with rips, black boots and a black face mask.
