Suspected drug dealer arrested in Green Bay after authorities seized hundreds of grams of drugs and faces more than 15 charges

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A Green Bay man is facing over 15 charges and his bond has been set at $50,000 following a drug investigation in Brown County.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by Local 5, 49-year-old Dennis Johnson has been formally charged with multiple felony counts related to drug possession and trafficking. The allegations stem from several controlled purchases by Johnson.

During some of the controlled purchases, Johnson allegedly used “runners” to deliver drugs on his behalf to avoid detection by police. The complaint states that Johnson was the primary suspect in that investigation.

Following the controlled purchases, authorities executed a search warrant on Sept. 23 at a residence on North Webster Avenue. Johnson was eventually taken into custody and removed from the residence.

Below is a breakdown of what was seized during the search warrant:

  • 139.73 grams of cocaine

  • 40.72 grams of cocaine base

  • 15.64 grams of fentanyl

  • 59.20 grams of methamphetamine

  • Multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia

  • Three handguns

  • 1,874 US dollars in US currency

The complaint states that the items seized during the warrant matched the dealers’ amounts.

According to the complaint, authorities interviewed someone associated with Johnson who claimed he was dealing drugs.

Johnson is accused of:

  2. Maintaining a Place of Drug Trafficking – As a party to a crime, repeat offender

  3. Maintaining a Place of Drug Trafficking – As a party to a crime, repeater

  10. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – As a party to a felony, repeater

  11. Possession of a Firearm by a Felon – As a participant in a crime, a repeat offender

  12. Possession of a Firearm by a Felon – As a participant in a crime, a repeat offender

  13. Possession of a Firearm by a Felon – As a participant in a crime, a repeat offender

  14. Bail jumping, repeater

  15. Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine (>40G) – As Participant in a Criminal Offense, Repeat Offender – Property Forfeiture

  16. Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl (>10-50 grams) – As a party to a felony, repeat offender

Court records show Johnson was in court for his first appearance on Sept. 25. His bail is set at $50,000. He is due back in court on October 4th for a postponed initial appearance.
