Chambersburg Police Investigate Late-Night Hit-and-Run Incident on Lincoln Way

Chambersburg Police are currently investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred in the Lincoln Way West apartment block and was reported on the morning of July 12, 2024. According to the initial report, the incident likely occurred overnight, resulting in damage to a resident’s vehicle.

Authorities have determined the vehicle involved to be a dark blue or black sedan that was last seen turning onto S Franklin Street and then onto W Burkhart Avenue. Using evidence from the county’s surveillance systems, they were able to identify the suspect vehicle, which is believed to have damage to the driver’s side door and/or mirror.

Chambersburg Police have closed the case but are still asking the public for information to identify the vehicle responsible for the damage. Residents with information are asked to submit a tip through Crimewatch or contact Chambersburg Police directly at their Lincoln Way address.

The incident has been catalogued as a criminal case under reference number 2024-08593. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
