HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Repairs to the I-45/North Freeway bridge could hamper your plans this weekend.

The Texas Department of Transportation’s Houston District is encouraging drivers to find alternate routes as multiple closures are expected to cause delays.

Multiple lanes on southbound I-45 North between Spring Cypress Road and Cypresswood Drive will be closed beginning Friday at 9 p.m. and will remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday.

The department said Diamond Lane (HOV) will reopen at 4 a.m. Sunday.

TxDOT said at least one lane will remain open at all times during the first portion of work, and a second lane will be reopened as soon as it is safe to do so.

The southbound I-45 North entrance ramp from Louetta Road will also be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Additional information about the closure can be found on Houston TranStar. Closures are subject to change due to bad weather.
