12-year-old shot multiple times in Atlanta

ATLANTA — A 12-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Friday evening after Atlanta police said he was shot multiple times.

Atlanta Police officers responded to the area of ​​Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW and Hamilton E. Holmes Drive NW just after 6 p.m. for a call of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found the boy suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest and arm, police said.

Police said he was taken to hospital where he was “alert, conscious and breathing.”

During the investigation, APD said the 12-year-old was shot at 2201 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW, which Google Maps shows is the address of the Little Shop of Styles. The address is in the Florida Heights neighborhood.

Police are still trying to determine what led to the shooting.
