Massachusetts man arrested for crashing and then stealing a car in South Windsor

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) – A Massachusetts man was arrested after intentionally crashing into a vehicle and then stealing it in South Windsor last month.

According to police, 20-year-old Adrian Perez of Agawam was arrested Friday for theft of a motor vehicle.

The charges stem from an incident in April in which police said Perez and a woman struck another vehicle at Chapel Road and Route 5. When the other driver got out of her car to inspect the damage, Perez jumped into the driver’s seat and fled the scene.

Police were able to recover the vehicle this month after it was sold on Facebook Marketplace.

Perez was released on a $25,000 bond and is expected in court May 29.
