Car accident with minor injuries on 8 Freeway and El Cajon Boulevard

According to police, two vehicles collided for reasons that are still unknown. One of the vehicles overturned and the driver was trapped.

El Cajon, California. – At least one person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in El Cajon on Monday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred around 8:21 p.m. on Freeway 8 eastbound, east of El Cajon Boulevard.

According to police, two vehicles collided for reasons that are still unknown. One of the vehicles overturned and the driver was trapped.

The driver was conscious and breathing after the accident.

The driver of the second vehicle was traveling with two children who complained of headaches after the accident. Both were treated for minor injuries.

At around 8:39 p.m., a SigAlert was issued that closed all lanes. The SigAlert was lifted and the road was reopened at 9:22 p.m.

No further information has been released about this crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
