The Mets have had an impressive run. They started with a seven-game winning streak, briefly lost two of three games, then went on another four-game winning streak, taking the baseball world by storm before Saturday’s loss. Longtime fans said they were shocked by how the season is going.

“The start of the season is typical Mets,” said Lester, a Mets fan. “We experience the highest peaks and the lowest peaks. At the moment we are at altitude, so we are riding well. »

At the block party, fans enjoyed games, music and numerous live dance performances attracting fans of all ages.

As Mets infielder Jose Iglesias makes waves not only on the field but in the music world after his performance of his new song “OMG” during Friday night’s game, fans are thrilled with the song hitting number one on iTunes Latin.

“We love it,” Diane said. “We already downloaded it and everything.”
