1 dream, 1 reach and 1 realistic offseason goal for the Houston Rockets

We all have dreams. Sometimes these dreams have to be true.

Do you want to be the president? If you are five years old, we will encourage you to keep dreaming. If you’re 35, we either know your name or you’re behind the eight ball.

Houston Rockets fans have dreams. Some of these dreams are, at best, loosely based in reality. As the team looks to continue to improve, they will likely target quality players.

Some of these goals will be more realistic than others. In this article we will dream, then verify it ourselves. Here’s a dream goal, a goal to achieve, and a realistic goal for the Rockets this summer.

We did this ad nauseum.

That’s because there is so much appeal in acquiring Bridges. We will briefly describe our master plan again:

The Rockets are expected to offer all draft capital except the Nets’ 2025 first-round trade rights to the Nets in exchange for Bridges. If they can weaken Brooklyn ahead of a draft featuring Cooper Flagg, Ace Bailey and others, they should seize the opportunity.

Yet it’s not just about Flagg. Bridges is a 3-D prototype wing that can create its own plane when asked. He will compliment everyone who is part of the Rockets core in the future. If the Nets want their 2024 number three pick, their 2026 pick back, and the reverse trade on the 2027 pick, that’s a cost worth paying on the Rockets’ side.
