Inter Miami vs Atlanta United player ratings: Saba Lobjanidze does best Lionel Messi impression as Herons get thumped at home

Saba Lobjanidze is not as famous as Lionel Messi. His name is definitely not that easy to spell. But, on Wednesday night, for one night only, the Atlanta United star did his best GOAT impression right in front of the Argentine himself.

The 29-year-old Georgia international scored two stunning goals to lead Atlanta United to a 3-1 road victory over Inter Miami on Wednesday night. Both were loopy finishes and both were Messi-esque to say the least.

Messi’s Argentine teammate Thiago Almada also stood out, directing the game from his place in midfield. Five Stripes striker Jamal Thiare scored the third goal and was assisted by USA U-23 star Caleb Wiley as Atlanta United ran away with all three points.

As for Messi himself, he achieved his goal: a beautiful finish at ground level which gave his team a chance. It was, however, the one shining moment for a Herons team that fell far short against an Atlanta team that was ready to be beaten.

Instead, it went the other way, leaving Inter Miami frustrated with a missed opportunity at home.
