Flight delays expected at Houston airports during severe thunderstorms

HOUSTON – Flight delays and interruptions are expected at Bush Intercontinental Airport and Houston William P. Hobby Airport Thursday afternoon and evening due to severe thunderstorms in the Houston area.

Bush Airport released the following statement:

Due to storms in the area, expect flight delays and interruptions this Sunday. To avoid terminal congestion, please wait at our cell phone locations until your passenger is ready to be picked up.

United Airlines said its team will continue to monitor weather conditions as storms move through Southeast Texas:

Our operations team continues to monitor the changing weather in Houston and adjust our schedule accordingly. We currently have waivers in place for customers traveling to, from or through IAH and other affected cities.
