4 dogs attack two-year-old child in Hoosick Falls

Hoosick Falls Police said four Rottweilers attacked and bit a two-year-old child on 4th Street in Hoosick Falls on Wednesday.

HOOSICK FALLS, NY (WNYT) – Hoosick Falls Police said four Rottweilers attacked and bit a 2-year-old child on 4th Street in Hoosick Falls on Wednesday.

The child was treated at the scene by the City of Hoosick EMS team and the Cambridge Valley EMS paramedic.

Police said the child is currently in hospital and his condition is unknown.

The Rensselaer County Health Department said it had contacted the dog owners, who had opted for euthanasia and subsequent rabies testing.

NewsChannel 13 spoke with Sergeant John Hudson of the Hoosick Falls Police Department, who said his condolences go out to everyone involved.

“As you can imagine, this was a very traumatic event not only for the family but for everyone who responded. Our thoughts are with the family and everyone involved. As we work through the incident, we will release as much information as possible,” Hudon said.

Hudson also told us that the incident is currently under investigation.
