Turki Discount! Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois PPV Price Revealed for September 21 Title Fight

Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, recently discussed reducing pay-per-view (PPV) prices for marquee boxing fights. The aim is to help reduce piracy in combat sports and provide better access to underserved boxing fans.

As a result, the IBF heavyweight title fight between British boxers Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Wembley Arena in London, England, will cost just $19.99 to stream. That’s $50 less than “AJ’s” last fight, a thunderous knockout victory over former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou earlier this year in Riyadh.

If the Joshua-Dubois title fight generates significant PPV sales, expect future boxing cards to remain in the $20 range. If it proves costly, it would make sense for promoters to return to higher prices. Additionally, not everyone in the combat sports community is on board with Turki’s reduction, despite a “significant relationship” with the General Entertainment Authority.

The IBF title became available earlier this year when Oleksandr Usyk surrendered his belt (as expected) to pursue a lucrative rematch against Tyson Fury in October in Riyadh. The winner of that fight could be in a position to match up with the winner of Joshua vs. Dubois, or perhaps up-and-coming Chinese fighter Zhilei Zhang.
