Katy Freeway closed near TC Jester due to large rig accident

The crash affected westbound lanes as traffic was diverted to the Cottage Grove neighborhood.

HOUSTON — The Katy Highway is closed near TC Jester after a crash involving an 18-wheeler early Monday, according to Houston Transtar.

Transtar camera views show the big rig on its side under the TC Jester Bridge.

It happened just before 12:30 a.m. in the westbound or exit lanes.

A heavy tow truck is on site. Traffic is being diverted to the Cottage Grove area.

KHOU 11 traffic expert Jennifer Reyna recommends motorists avoid the area and use Memorial Drive or Hempstead as an alternate route.
