The Buffalo Bills will host the Super Bowl runner-up in a season-ending primetime affair

This is definitely a matchup that deserves a prime time window, and it looks like it will happen late in the season.

The four-time defending AFC East champion Buffalo Bills are set to host the Super Bowl LVIII runner-up San Francisco 49ers this season, with a recent report that the game would be played on Sunday Night Football in Week 13 Ty Dunne of Go Long cited a source as saying the match is scheduled for December 1 at Orchard Park.

The Bills have made three appearances on Sunday Night Football in 2023, including the flex finale in Miami. Buffalo hosted the New York Giants on October 15 in an SNF affair, earning a 14-9 victory at Highmark Stadium. Three weeks later, the Bills lost a 24-18 decision on Sunday night in Cincinnati.

The Bills and 49ers last met in Week 13 of Monday Night Football during the 2020 season. Buffalo earned a 34-24 victory in a game played in Glendale, Arizona , due to COVID restrictions in California.

The NFL will release its full 2024 schedule on May 15 at 8 p.m. ET. The Bills’ Week 2 matchup has also already been announced with Buffalo visiting the Dolphins for Thursday Night Football on September 12.
