play

The weather is set to be nice when the Bills Mafia descend on Highmark Stadium for the final preseason game of the season against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday, August 23.

The game will determine who will be cut and who will make the Buffalo Bills’ 53-man roster before the start of the season. Positions still to be determined include backups on the offensive line, edge rusher and linebacker.

Saturday’s weather conditions will not determine who is selected or not, with mostly sunny skies and pleasantly warm temperatures expected.

The National Weather Service in Buffalo is predicting a temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit and mostly sunny skies at kickoff at 1 p.m. Sunday in Orchard Park. Relative humidity will hover around 50 percent, leaving comfortable conditions and a heat index that matches the air temperature. There is no chance of precipitation, which lends itself to ideal late-summer conditions for the Bills’ season finale.

AccuWeather’s forecast is similar, with a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius at kickoff and a temperature of 28 degrees Celsius according to RealFeel, a metric that takes into account humidity, sun and other factors. Winds are expected to be mild and from the west-southwest with gusts of up to 10 mph. The UV index is expected to be high at 1 p.m. but drop to moderate during the game.

  • The last regular season game between the Carolina Panthers and the Buffalo Bills took place in December 2021, and the Bills won 31-17. Josh Allen went 19-34 for 210 yards, 3 touchdowns, and an interception.
  • The Bills game will be broadcast on CBS local stations, including WROC (Channel 8) in Rochester, WIVB in Buffalo and WTVH in Syracuse. Andrew Catalon, Steve Tasker and Maddy Glab will provide commentary for the game.
