One dead after small plane crashes in Niagara County

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A pilot has died after a small plane crashed Saturday afternoon just east of Old Fort Niagara in Youngstown, a Niagara County Sheriff’s Office official confirmed to WIVB News 4.

The crash occurred shortly before noon near the Niagara Scenic Parkway. The plane appears to have crashed into the side of a hill leading to the southbound traffic lanes of the parkway.


Authorities confirmed the single-engine plane belonged to Skydive the Falls.

Roads in the area of ​​the crash are expected to be closed for the remainder of Saturday, authorities said.
