Houston Pride Guide: Top Events to Attend

Wake up baby, Pride Month has officially started! 2024 commemorates 46 years of annual Pride celebrations in Houston and celebrations will continue throughout the month.

Here is a list of a few different events you can attend in June:

Space Cowboys Pride Night June 9

The Sugar Land Space Cowboys are celebrating their third annual Space Cowboys Pride Night. You can even enjoy dollar hot dogs while cheering on the Space Cowboys.

The event is in partnership with the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce and Fort Bend County Pride. The evening will feature a pre-game dog parade on the field as well as an optional Drag Bingo event featuring Dessie, Miss Gay USA 2024.

Houston Pride Band concert on June 15

Voted Best LGBT Performing Arts Community Organization in this year’s Gayest and Greatest Readers’ Choice Awards by OutSmart Magazinethis Pride group will perform “Summer winds, rhythms of the sea” during their concert.

The concert will conclude the band’s 45th season “An Elemental Journey” and will be performed at Midtown Houston Arts and Theater Center.

This concert will also include the world premiere of Storm surge by composer JaRod Hall. You can find tickets for the concert here.

New Faces of Houston Pride Festival and Parade June 22

It’s the inaugural event hosted by a new nonprofit, Houston’s New Faces of Pride. The festival will take place at Houston City Hall and is one of two premier Pride festivals and parades in Houston.

The event will feature live entertainment and 350 festival vendors. Billy Gilman, Lauren Sanderson and Chris Housman headline the festival.

The festival will begin at noon with a general admission fee of $3 and the parade is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and attendance is free. You can find the tickets here.

The organization also organizes a Pink Planet! After Party from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. AFTER Houston. Tickets for the after party can be purchased here.

Sixth Annual Pride Brunch June 23

Another event hosted by Houston’s New Faces of Pride includes an annual fundraising brunch that will benefit the Montrose Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will host a brunch by Chef Cameron Caine accompanied by a variety of drinks, drag performances by Sinema LaRue and Lucy Paradisco and music by DJ Chad Guidry. However, the event is restricted to those 21 and over.

Held at Heights Social, a martini-centric bar and restaurant owned by the Clé Group, the outfit followed will be Pride Sunday Funday Realness.

Astros Pride Night June 25

The Houston Astros will celebrate Pride Month in their own home game against the Colorado Rockies at Minute Maid Park at 7 p.m.

The celebrations will begin with a happy hour at 5 p.m. at the Michelob Ultra Club, accompanied by other special pre-match ceremonies.

You can even add an Astros Pride Night jersey package for $30. Tickets can be purchased online.

Houston 365 Pride Festival and Parade on June 29

The festival and parade takes place through the streets of Houston and begins at Houston City Hall at 11 a.m.

Housto PrideNo. 365 will celebrate its 46th annual event. This event is the oldest and largest celebration in Texas and will welcome thousands of community members showing their adoration and support.

Performances will feature Brooke Eden, K. Michelle, David Archuleta and Kayla G. The parade is free and begins at 7:30 p.m. However, the festival is free only for participants aged under 21 and over 55.
