Hialeah police officer shoots suspect during traffic stop – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

HIALEAH, FLA. (WSVN) – A routine traffic stop took an unexpected turn when a Hialeah Police officer shot a suspect during an altercation at West 12th Avenue and West 29th Street around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday.

The incident occurred when police officers stopped a stolen vehicle for a crime. During the stop, an officer fired his weapon and struck the offender.

The suspect suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment.

According to department policy, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement will conduct the investigation.
