Minor rape in Komaram Bheem Asifabad, locals maintain blockade

Adilabad:Locals and parents of a minor girl in Bhuruguda on Saturday blocked NH-363 and demanded police to hang a man accused of raping the victim in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district. The rape incident came to light on Saturday. The police have arrested the accused.

Asifabad district inspector Satish told the protesters that a case had already been registered against the accused. Police called on protesters to lift the blockade and promised the victim’s parents that they would ensure that the accused receives speedy justice through a fast-track trial.

Bommena Sagar, 28, was drunk and forcibly dragged the girl into his house on September 27 as she was riding her bike home from school in Buruguda village.

The girl informed her parents about the incident. When they went to the defendant’s house, they found the door was locked and he was missing. They then reported the incident to Asifabad police, who later took the accused into custody.
