Missing swimmer found dead in Lake Minneola

CLERMONT, Fla. – Florida fish and wildlife investigators say they have found the body of a missing swimmer in Lake County.

A 64-year-old man went missing early Monday, according to the sheriff’s office dive team.

They say his body was found just before 7 p.m

“The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Clermont Police Department have completed search and rescue operations at Lake Minneola. At approximately 6:45 p.m., the Lake County Sheriff’s Office dive team recovered the deceased body of the 64-year-old man who went missing on Lake Minneola earlier in the day. We would like to extend our condolences to his family during this difficult time. We have no further investigation information to release at this time.
