Covington man killed in early morning motorcycle accident

A Covington man was killed Tuesday in an early morning motorcycle and car crash in Conyers on the Sigman Road on-ramp to Interstate 20.

The victim, 26-year-old Stephen Wurst, was riding his motorcycle south on Sigman Road shortly after 5 a.m. while a tan Toyota Camry, driven by Judith Lorier of Conyers, was traveling north on Sigman Road, as reported an incomplete statement from the Rockdale County Sheriff’s office showed.

As the Camry turned toward the on-ramp to the interstate, it turned left in front of the motorcycle, “causing the driver to park the motorcycle.” The motorcycle skidded in one direction and the motorcyclist was thrown toward the interstate entrance and hit and run over by the Camry.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 6:02 a.m. by the Rockdale County Deputy Coroner.
