Woman arrested for drunk driving after crash on I-93 in New Hampshire

A New Hampshire woman was flown to the hospital and arrested for drunken driving after a crash temporarily shut down Interstate 93, state police said. New Hampshire State Police said around 2:15 a.m. Saturday they received a report of an accident in the area of ​​I-93 in New Hampton and shortly thereafter received additional calls from other motorists reporting an accident. Troopers discovered that a Jeep had left the highway on the other side of the highway before exit 23, state police said. New Hampshire State Police said around 2:15 a.m. Saturday they received a report of an accident in the area of ​​I-93 in New Hampton and a short time later received additional calls from other motorists reporting an accident.

The driver, Amanda Webber, 28, of Washington, New Hampshire, was taken by DHART helicopter to Concord Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The highway was closed for 30 minutes to allow the helicopter to land. Webber was arrested and charged with drunken driving, state police said.

According to State Police, driver impairment and speed appear to be the primary causes of the crash, but all aspects remain under investigation.
