Silver Springs woman arrested for kidnapping and drug possession

Brandy Moore, 55, of Silver Springs, faces serious charges following an incident reported on Saturday, June 29.

Respond to an emergency call

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 2:30 p.m. regarding a possible assault and kidnapping at gunpoint on the Santa Fe Trail in Stagecoach, Nevada.

Quick action leads to arrest

Officers began searching for the suspect’s vehicle. After about 90 minutes, they found the car in the parking lot of a Silver Springs casino.

Victim found safe and sound, suspect arrested

Both the suspect, identified as Brandy Moore, and the uninjured victim were found in the vehicle.

Evidence seized, charges filed

Officers also found the firearm described in the first call as well as a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the investigation, Moore was arrested and charged with several crimes:

• kidnapping
• Two cases of assault with Deadly weapon
• Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person
• Possession of a controlled substance
• Possession of drug paraphernalia

Waiting for the court hearing

Moore is currently being held in the Lyon County Jail on $323,640 bail. Her next court date will likely be soon.
