Iowa Park man dead after accident in Wise County

WISE COUNTY, Texas (KAUZ) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has released information regarding a crash in Wise County that left an Iowa Park man dead.

The accident occurred around 3:50 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, on US-81 near the Cooke-Montague County line at US-287.

According to details provided by DPS, a tractor-trailer was traveling southbound when it overturned, blocking the southbound lanes.

According to DPS, 33-year-old Logan Ray Churchwell drove a 2014 Ford F-150 into the trailer and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Representatives of the Iowa Park Chamber of Commerce addressed the man’s death in a recent Facebook post, saying he was the husband of city board treasurer M’Lainey Churchwell.

The Facebook post linked to a food train for community members to support the Churchwell family following their loss.
