Boat catches fire near outer harbor quay

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A boat caught fire Thursday evening at a dock in the Outer Harbor, according to city officials.

Police said the call came in shortly before 6:45 p.m. Two people were on the boat when the fire broke out and firefighters were able to put it out shortly after.

A man suffered minor burns and was treated at the scene. Damage is estimated at approximately $30,000, including $25,000 to the boat and $5,000 to the dock.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
