Atlanta water supply shut off for sewage plant repairs June 12

ATLANTA, Texas (KTAL/KSHV) – City officials on Wednesday asked all residents and businesses in Atlanta, Texas, to conserve water during repairs to a water treatment plant.

Repairs at the Graphic Packaging plant are expected to begin at 11 p.m. on June 12. The city’s water supply would be interrupted for approximately 30 hours.

The city asked residents to avoid non-essential uses of water, such as irrigation and filling swimming pools. They said conserving water during the outage would allow the system to operate from water storage tanks.

If water pressure falls below minimum levels, municipal officials may issue a precautionary boil order.
