Man declared dead after brick attack in March 2023

INDIANAPOLIS – An Indianapolis man was pronounced dead Thursday in connection with injuries sustained during a reported aggravated assault in March 2023.

According to the Marion County Coroner’s Office, 65-year-old David Mouser was pronounced dead Thursday at Clearvista Lake Health, a nursing facility in northeast Indianapolis. The coroner’s office ruled the death a homicide.

This stems from an incident in March 2023 in which Mouser was allegedly attacked with a blunt object in south Indianapolis.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a “call for assistance” in the 1200 block of E. Thompson Road in the early morning hours of March 5, 2023. When officers arrived, they found Mouser reportedly being attacked with a brick.
