Saints RB Alvin Kamara receives warning from Eagles defender ahead of Week 3

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is off to an incredible start to the season with a high-flying offense that has scored 40-plus points in each of the team’s two wins.

Speaking of high flying, Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Darius Slay doesn’t want to see anything like that when the two teams face off this weekend.

Speaking to reporters about the NFC heavyweight title game in Week 3, Slay had a warning of sorts for Kamara.

“He’s nice about it, man,” Slay told reporters, as captured Howard Eskin from Fox 29 TV. “One of the best balance backs I’ve seen in a long time, man, he really breaks a lot of tackles. Crazy thing is I told him never to jump over me again, he jumped over me one time when I was in Detroit his rookie season, he really, like, cleared me. So Kamara, I know you’re probably watching this, don’t jump over me like that, I’m gonna sue, I swear to God I’m gonna sue.”

Slay is referring to a throwback to Drew Brees’ days, when he was still a member of the Detroit Lions and Kamara treated him like a human obstacle near the goal line during a Saints blowout victory.

Kamara has a tendency to do that to people, both literally and figuratively. It’s especially true right now in this high-flying offense of coordinator Klint Kubiak, who has used one specific trait more than anyone else in the last decade to help him excel.

So far, Kamara is averaging 5.7 yards per carry with four touchdowns and has caught seven passes for 92 yards and a touchdown. Next up is a showdown with Slay and the Eagles in a game that will set the tone for the entire NFC.
